Ken Ham’s tone in that famous exchange is often graceful under fire. This page is not a fandom shrine — it is a math window: population growth is exponential (compound), not simple interest.
Claim under test: when population math was mocked, the funny formula on the simple-interest side misses the caret — growth compounds.
Simple interest (wrong model for populations):
P = P0 · (1 + r·t)
Compound / exponential (standard growth model):
P = P0 · (1 + r)^t
or continuous: P = P0 · e^{r t}
The difference is the ^ — each generation multiplies, it does not only add.
If you use simple interest on a compounding process, you can make the other side look absurd while your own model is the one that broke. Fact-check the algebra before the applause line.
